Join us on Saturday, August 4, 6:00 PM for Aloha Nights at the NY Botanical Garden.

It promises to be an evening of #ComadresFun, as we visit the Georgia O'Keeffe: Visions of Hawaii exhibition; get interactive hula lessons; watch lei-making demos; enjoy live music and walk around the outdoor exhibition by Hawaiian artist Mark Chai.  AND, there is even a Poke food truck.

Our first annual Comadrazo and Game Night was a huge success!

We played bingo all night and everyone went home a winner.  We must admit that some of the Comadres got creative when we ran out of marking chips.  See photos below.

This month we gather to network and celebrate the beginning of Summer!   

 We are also donating toiletries and female undergarments to The Women’s Project, which helps homeless women in our city.  Comadre Miriam Gonzalez will join us and take our contributions to the shelter.  For more information on the Project, visit www.gsecdc.org.

 JUNE OUTINGS.  Let’s start with the June 12 (Tues) Museum Mile Festival from 6-9pm. MARCH 19 --- COMADRES OUTING TO SOFRITO




Many thanks to Comadre Jacklyn Rosa, Director of Artists for Creative Theatre, for the invitation and discount to see Organic Sofrito by Venessa Diaz.  The one-woman show was held at the Flamboyant Theatre, and proceeds went to the Mariafund to help victims in Puerto Rico.

Over 22 Comadres were present to enjoy the show.  Some even had an early supper at El Castillo del Jagua.  (The mofongo was delicious!)  It was a great night, a wonderful show.  Again, many thanks to Jacklyn for the invitation, and Congratulations to Venessa on her grand performance.

And a big Thank You to all the Comadres who attend.

MOSAIC WORKSHOP WITH ARTIST MANNY VEGA


It’s always a fun day when I get to spend it with #MyComadres!

Thanks to Comadre Nydia Marsella for arranging a private mosaic workshop with artist Manny Vega on Saturday, January 27.  Manny specializes in Murals, Illustration, Printmaking, Beadwork, Theatrical and Costume Design.  Many of you might have seen the beautiful mosaic he created for the old La Casa Azul Bookstore; plus, his other mosaics around Harlem.
